Recreation in the Los Banos Area

Surrounding the City of Los Banos are numerous recreation areas. Activities include birding, hunting, fishing, hiking, bicycling, camping, boating and a host of other special interest categories. This page will introduce the visitor to the variety of activities to be found here. The San Luis Reservoir has over 65 miles of shoreline and is situated about 10 miles west of Los Banos. Fishing, boating and camping areas are available through the State Department of Parks and Recreation.

 

The O'Neill Forebay is another part of the San Luis Reservoir State Recreation Area. The forebay features grassy picnic areas, swimming, water skiing, fishing and overnight camping in designated areas. Great area for individual or group activities. Phone (209) 826-1196 for information.
