The Los Banos Enterprise Reader’s Choice awards, which have existed since the 1990s, came about around the same time as the chamber quit doing its own awards banquet, called “The Best of the Best.”

For the first time in 2010 the Enterprise partnered with the chamber to present an awards banquet to honor the Reader’s Choice winners.
Another banquet followed in 2011 and should continue each year to give recognition to those businesses and and individuals who work daily to meet the needs of the city’s residents.
The celebration is held at the Los Banos Community Center. Ballots with approximately 50 categories are printed in the Enterprise for four to six weeks in September and October and are tallied and kept secret until the awards banquet night.
The awards night is spent honoring those who work hard each day to power our local economy and who make the lives of the Los Banos residents a bit easier by providing the goods and services they need in Los Banos so they don’t have to drive out of town.
If one ponders for a moment on all the daily items that affect their lives — from the meals they eat at home or in a restaurant, to the necessities of their automobiles, health care, children’s education, public safety or that afternoon cup of coffee — whatever it is — Los Banos businesses and community individuals meet most all of their needs. And for that all Los Banos resident’s should say thank you. And the Reader's Choice Banquet is an opportunity to do so.
